| Responsible Animal Owners of Tennessee now offers a number of dog training classes (see descriptions below) in Memphis, Tennessee. Classes are $80.00 for each six week session, with the exception of our puppy socialization classes which are free. (At present, we are not offering classes in any other cities in Tennessee.) Descriptions are: BASIC OBEDIENCE: A starter class that teaches the basic obedience commands (sit, down, stand, stay, come, and heel) with a focus on positive reinforcement specifically and operant conditioning generally. These classes are specifically designed with the pet owner in mind rather than competition in the ring, so you get information on how to get overall better behavior out of your dog and assistance with common behavior problems like jumping or house soiling. The six week session consists of six one hour classes, held once a week. Click HERE to register online. ADVANCED OBEDIENCE: (Prerequisite: RAOT Basic) Transition class designed to take you, and your dog, beyond basic obedience. The class will focus on how to wean your dog off food lures and on raising your dog's performance level. The class consists of one "lecture" class and five "hands on" sessions with your dog. FLYBALL! TRICK TRAINING: (Prerequisite: Basic Obedience or Clicker Basic) The class will focus on teaching your dog at least one and possibly multiple "tricks," depending on the complexity of the "tricks" you choose to teach your dog. The class consists of one "lecture" class and five "hands on" sessions with your dog. Additional $5.00 equipment/material charge for this class and, depending on the trick(s) you choose to teach your dog, furnish additional equipment may be required.
